YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
The old adage 'garbage in garbage out' doesn't only apply to computers, but more readily to humans. You are, what you eat... so if you eat garbage you are just another pile of ... you guessed right! Many of us live on 'junk food' thus our bodies almost never get the proper nutrition it requires. But be that as it may, there is a DVD of a journalist floating around who ate 'junk food' from a world renown fast food joint for an entire month (you may have seen it) as an experiment in nutrition. He was consuming a up-sizeded chicken or beef burger with french fries and soda including dessert, for breakfast, lunch and supper, daily. Within 20days he gained numerous kg's in weight and even increased a few clothing sizes yet looked the epitome of health. But, according to the medical doctor tending to this experiment, he had one foot in the grave, he wasn't going to make it into the next month. Like many of us, he was overfed but under nourished.
Our bodies are amazing bio-chemical machines, composed of some 6 billion cells, each feasting daily from the our smorgasbord of blood ingredients. At least 5 million of these cells die off but are replaced daily. Just think about it, the hair on your head are not the same strands you were born with, since its probably been cut numerous times. The same applies to your skin, which became dust-mite food or vacuum cleaner food over the years. Even your nails that you bite, are all cells that are constantly replenished. However, in order for our bodies to do this daily and efficiently, we need a constant supply of the essential vitamins, minerals, trace elements and essential oils. Thus, if any of these are absent from our diet, some of our cells will go hungry or go on a hunger strike, leading to all sorts of deficiencies and illness because they require specific ingredients to make the enzymes our bodies need to function properly. Scurvy has been liked to a marked deficiency in vitamin C, Beri-beri was linked to a deficiency in vitamin B1, Rickets was linked to a deficiency in vitamin D, etc...
Regardless of eating fresh fruit and vegetable, our modern day green harvesting policies makes it virtually impossible for our bodies to get a sufficient amount of glyconutrients because it was picked too early. What are glyconutrients anyway, you may ask? In a nut shell, It is in essence the missing component in fruits and vegetables when they are not sun ripened. Most of our fruits and vegetables are picked well before ripening so that it can be taken to market and a reletive shelf life. Often these fruits are artificially ripened in warehouses by means of gas heat, meaning never able to grow the essential glyconutrients in the presence of the sun. But fear not, all's not lost. There is a technology company out there that grows glyconutrients and own the patents for the technology to stabilise these glyconutrients. The controversy over vitamin suppliments will continue but it is purported by MIT that glyconutrients is The disruptive technology that will change the way we life our lifes, forever. It was rated one of the top ten technologies since the invention of the cell phone and destined to become the world's next trilloin dollar business.
