FOOD SUPPLIMENTS
The old saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" needs a serious revision if what medical science, is to be believed. Proponents in the scientific space says Vitamin Supplements is a load of nonsense. So lets retain our sanity and look at their implications and draw our own conclusions. Every medication out there manufactured by scientists either in tablet or capsule form has an active ingredient that gives it its efficacy, or at least science claims that. However, is its ridiculed that a vitamin C chewable for example, with ascorbic acid as its active ingredient, is frowned upon as useless and ineffective.It must be understood that every substance consumed by the body which it cannot synthesize itself has an effect on it, some to a larger degree than others. Meaning if the active ingredient in an anabolic steroid taken orally is 2000 milligrams it will have a pronounced effect on the body over time and conversely if a 1 gram vitamin B1 (thiamine) is the active ingredient in a tablet taken orally, there seem to be no noticeable effects but that doesn't mean it doesn't work or done what it was meant to do. That's the difference between pharmaceutical and nutriceutical compounds.
So the reason why some voices in the scientific space is knocking vitamin supplements could be two fold, either they fear that the popularity of vitamin supplements is going to erode their profit margins when their clients retain good health and therefore have no use for their medications or that for fear of being exposed as liars and cheats for keeping the truth about health away from the masses for so long. This is exactly the sentiments of Dr. Matthias Rath, a pro nutritionist, who says in one of his arguments against pharmaceutical drugs, “The Third World War is a global misinformation war lead by the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical investment business with disease against all mankind.”
Our bodies are amaizing bio-chemical engines but cannot make vitamins, so a deficiency of vitamins presents itself as an illness in the human body, either as a skin rash, headaches, stomach cramps or pain etc... in order for us to take notice and do something about it. But instead of looking towards better nutrition we look towards pharmaceutical concoctions that suppress our immune systems thereby removing the symptoms described above but it fails too heal us. In fact no doctor can heal you, your body heals itself if given the essential and necessary ingredients to do so, only found in whole foods.
Vitamins and minerals are present in whole foods like fruits and vegetables and the other food groups but because of modern farming practises destroys vitamins, we do not get sufficient vitamins and minerals in our diets. But, all is not lost, we have two options to get a sufficient amount of vitamin we need. We can either eat seven helpings of fruit and vegetables each and every day without fail or we can take vitamin supplements in tablet form for optimal health. If we don't we will essentially be like cows ans spend the better part of our day chewing.
Vitamins and minerals are tiny chemical molecules found in whole foods which react with our living cells to create some 55 000 enzymes in our bodies for its proper functionality. Amongst which are salivary glands for pre-treatment of food to make chyme, digestive enzymes in our Gastro Intestinal track for breaking down our food and metabolic enzymes for our organs, blood and other body cells and endocrine system to proper hormone production.
