GLOBAL IDIOT CONTROVERSY

There is a saying that goes something like this, "It is far better to sit there staring googly eyed at others and not say anything and let people think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and prove that you are a fool"  (Like Netanyahu’s ‘pathetic’, and  ‘creepy’ 44 seconds of silence at the United Nations). Never before in the history of the world has this saying even been more appropriate, totally befitting to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Of all the fool hardy and idiotic pronouncements that he could ever have made, today he tried to justify the  Israeli,  violence and racist incitements, ethnic cleaning and extermination policies against the Palestinians, by saying that the Jewish Holocaust was inspired by Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini of Jerusalem, incited by whispers into Fuehrer Adolf Hitler ear.

It is true that mufti allied himself to Chancellor Adolf Hitler in 1941, though  several years after the holocaust was already underway. But Netanyahu's hatred of Palestinians and his ludicrous distortion of truth is purely his way of strengthening the "Israeli narrative", by associating the Palestinian leadership with the Nazis, giving him justification for punishing the Palestinians for the crimes committed by the Nazi Germany against Jews of Europe. Like Hitler he is 'Playing God' without permission.

Not only is he crazy, stupid and idiotic. His assertions are also totally absurd. By this, he has emphatically proven himself to be  the village idiot, in an era when the world has become a global village. This makes him the global village idiot, trying to  sell his "supposed version of history" against one that is cast in stone. Looney antics has earned Benji-yahu global ridicule and condemnation by Israeli historians and politicians, fellow Israelis and Jews across the globe and by academics on an international level. Professor Dina Porat chief historian at Israel's memorial to the Holocaust  "harshly criticized "  Netanyahu's skewed speech. Even President Obama says that Netanyahu is basically a perpetual idiot. Chancellor Angela Merkel totally rejects Binjamin Netanyahu version of history, stating very clearly that the Germans take full responsibility of what happened during the Holocaust.

Netanyahu interpretation of history which he obviously read in his taurat, shows blatant signs of opportunism which also defines his irresponsible behaviour that has made him single handedly accountable for the escalation of violence against Palestinians.  By exculpating the Germans through incriminating a Muslim Mufti, he is hoping to win favour with European Islamophobes to bolster his position in the middle east. This is so wrong on so many levels, bordering on evil. A petition with 76,000 signatures for his arrest for war crimes in Gaza is rapidly gaining momentum. 

Netanyahu's heavy handed tactics  even went as far a toughened penalties for stone throwers. His minimum penalty, announced "significant fines" for Palestinian children, as well as for their parents. This  Jewish hatred for Palestinians  is sickening, even echoed  the Taraut, saying :- 

As the Philistine (Palestinian) moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. So David triumphed over the Philistine (Palestinian) with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

So who cast the first stone? Elesewhere in the bible Jesus even said "Whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone".  The David Ben-Gurions, the Yitzhak Rabins, the Yitzhak Shamirs and the Netanyahus of the world obviously cast the first stone. The Jewish hated for Palestinians goes back way before the holocaust or the post WW2 Jewish invasion of Palestine and is so rife  that they will volatile Jerusalem Temple Mount. But violating its people has always taken first preference as can be seen in this forceful castration  exercise below.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Today Al-Jazira newscast was inundated with hoo haa over the Turkish prime minister's statement that the “Armenian genocide was an international lie”. This is clearly his personal opinion and its not like he is imposing his will on that of everyone else. Yet, the powers that be, are up in arms over this statement, shouting “the first genocide of the 20th century”.  Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu accused Pope Francis of  conspiring against Turkey when the pontiff  echoed these very same words which were initially uttered by his predecessor John Paul II. Both of whom conveniently forgetting the Roman Catholics Church's hand in the atrocities during the  Spanish Inquisition, the anti-Protestant reformation, the anti-semitism in medieval Europe,  the relationship with Nazi Germany, the medieval witch hunts and the endless sexual abuse controversy, to mention but a few.

The Austrian parliament labelled Turkey's involvement as “the terrible events as genocide”  resulting in the recalling of the Turkish  ambassador to Austria,  which  Ankara said “permanently damaged” the countries’ relations.  Its a really big mystery as to why the western world now suddenly sees the “systematic genocide” by the Ottoman government against the Armenians as a crime, whilst in the midst of war.  WW1 dates from the  July 28, 1914 to 11 November 1918 and the Armenian extermination played out between  1915 and  1917,  smack bang in the middle of WW1. Millions of people of all religions and ethnicities lost their lives in the First World War especially considering that the Otterman empire was the worlds greatest empire, ruling for longer than any other and at war for most of its existence.  It is very obvious when making an omelet one has to break a few eggs, likewise engaging in war guarantees deaths and casualties. This year, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary  of the Armenian extermination  and any first hand account of this event has been buried a long time ago.

In my opinion, denial of God is a far more heinous crime than denial of the Armenian genocide or  even the denial of the Jewish Holocaust. Holocaust deniers aught to be protected by the universal right to free speech as preached by the the US First Amendment right. But  the modern western world's hypocrisy on freedom of speech borders on crazy because it essentially puts the importance of mortal man above the belief in God Almighty. 

For years Atheists and Agnostics have had free reign to blaspheme against God Almighty and ridicule religion to their hearts content, in public, without any repercussions.   Since time immemorial the Jewish Pharisees and Sadducees ridiculed and denied, mocked and “crucified” Jesus Christ without repercussions.  Not to long ago a media cartoons of  prophet Muhammad, raised a few eyebrows but nothing happened to the perpetrators. In fact they released a second bout of offensive cartoons because there was absolutely no possibility of prosecution. But if anybody dared to say the Armenian genocide or the Jewish Holocaust didn't happen they are prosecuted to he fullest extent of the law and face prison time. The United Kingdom, France and the United States,  Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Israel etc, all have laws against the denial of the Holocaust. Countries like Germany, Austria, Hungary and Romania, all of whom were among the perpetrators of the holocaust, ban symbols associated with Nazism and criminalized publicly  disputing  the official version of Holocaust.

Germany is said to have shot/ killed / gassed 11 million people over a 6 year period from 1939-1945. This equates to 1 million 830 thousand people per year or 152774 people per month, or 5093 people per day, or 213 people her hour , or  9 people per minute.   Can you even imagine any  regime capable of continuously killing 9 people every minute throughout a 24 hour for 72 months. At the same time  manufacturing uniforms, arms and ammunition, tanks and planes,  building bunkers, having parties and fighting the Allied forces on several fronts and flying sorties to the United Kingdom. It is kind of difficult to comprehend. But it did happen,  so whether it is 11 million  or 11 hundred,  genocide is a no-no and wrong on so many levels. But to be forced into believing a historical event without the right to question is a greater wrong, because its mental rape on a global scale.

In the not so distant past several people were imprisoned for denying that  Auschwitz and Treblinka ever happened.  British historian, David Irving  was arrested in Austria  for a 16-year-old violation of that country's "Holocaust denial" statute.  Facing 5 years on jail time.

Former-lawyer Sylvia Stolz, previously convicted for denying the Holocaust once again denied that there was insufficient evidence for the Holocaust in a 2012 speech during  an anti-censorship congress in Switzerland. She has been sentenced to 20 months in prison. 

Dr. Frederick Toben   an Australian citizen and a Holocaust denier was arrested by British police at London's Heathrow airport during a stop on a flight from the United States to Dubai and faces  five years in prison.

Robert Faurisson (born 25 January 1929) is a Franco-British Holocaust denier and former academic several  letters   to French newspapers, especially Le Monde  which deny various aspects of the Holocaust. He was fined €7,500 fine, and given 3 months' probation sentence.

EMISSIONS SCANDAL

VOLKSWAGEN EMISSIONS SCANDAL

Controversy is a state of prolonged public dispute or debate, usually concerning a matter of conflicting opinion or point of view. This definition so aptly fits the Volkswagen emissions debacle that started on the 18th  September 2015. Pertaining to software installed in certain diesel powered vehicles, specifically designed to cheat on emissions tests, after realizing that their new EA 189 diesel engine, could not meet the EPA pollution standards. This was called a "cheats device" and matched to engines fitted to all 2.0L diesel vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2015. This amounts to some 11 million vehicles, 8 million of which were sold in the European Union. As many as 5-million of the 11 million were VW vehicles and the remainder  shared by Audi, Seat and Skoda brands. All of them spewing out noxious Nitrous Oxide approximately 40 times more than permitted by law.

This emissions debacle is a controversy of global proportion, in fact it is the greatest controversy of both the 20th and 21st centuries, perpetrated by the largest carmaker globally. This reckless behaviour more than emphasizes Volkswagen's total disregard for the Kyoto Protocol and borders on disrespecting all its signatories including the commitment of their motherland Germany towards the GHG Emission Control Process. Not to mention the arrogance and the utter contempt their actions displayed towards the global masses and subjecting them to breathing Nitrous Oxide. Some people at VW took this as a joke, but nobody is laughing (pun intended).

To date, this controversy has been referred to by  several other names, amongst which are "Dieselgate", Volkswagen Diesel Car emissions scandal, EA 189 scandal, Volkswagen emissions testing debacle, Volkswagen emissions violations, Volkswagen's diesel debacle, Volkswagen emissions cheating device scandal, etc...and cost Volkswagen AG their reputation.

Reputation is everything, especially in this current day and age of social media that is able to disseminate news so fast, that any rock solid reputation can be destroyed in a matter of minutes. This is exactly what has happened to Volkswagen who has had a sterling reputation for most of its 78 years of operation, up to and until Volkswagen executives admitted to the fraud perpetrated by a small group of people  within the company. This resulted in the forced resignation of CEO Prof. Dr Martin Winterkorn (former CEO of BMW) and several top executives at the head of the R&D departments.

“I am shocked by the events of the past few days. Above all, I am stunned that misconduct on such a scale was possible in the Volkswagen Group. As CEO I accept responsibility for the irregularities that have been found in diesel engines and have therefore requested the Supervisory Board to agree on terminating my function as CEO of the Volkswagen Group. I am doing this in the interests of the company even though I am not aware of any wrong doing on my part.

Thus far Volkswagen has apologized, taken responsibility for their wrongs and committed to cooperate with authorities as well as demonstrated their proactive approach to fixing this problem by recalling those vehicles affected.  However, its going to take a lot more than a few websites for their loyal customers to self  verify if their vehicles are infected with the "dubious software bug" or not, that is at the core of the "Dieselgate scandal". Like Volkswagen's reputation, the resale value of Volkswagen AG’s cars has also taken a downturn, falling an average of 13% for diesel and 2% on petrol vehicles since the emissions debacle came to light. 

Whether or not Volkswagen will recover from a scandal of this magnitude is largely dependent on the company's leadership who needs to be open and transparent in order to gain back the trust of their loyal customers and that of the general public. This task fell on the newly appointed CEO Matthias Mueller, a former Porsche executive,  who already announced drastic cuts. VW launched an internal investigation led by a team of US lawyers in order to get to the bottom of the scandal. Today Wednesday 7th October 2015, VW is compelled to provide a  road-map to German regulators as to how it intends to make the affected cars legally compliant to EPA emissions guidelines. One thing we can all be certain of, is that Volkswagen has their work cut out for them.

VOLKSWAGEN'S "EXISTENCE-THREATENING" CRISES

The World is up in arms over the Volkswagen emissions scandal, forcing VW to withdraw brand new diesel vehicles from sale in Australia with immediate effect. Volkswagen AG announced that they will be temporarily suspending sales of diesel vehicles to the Australian public that may be fitted with EA 189 TDI Diesel Engine and software designed to mask emission levels. VW made this announcement  after they and Audi Australia met with the Federal Government authorities,  the ACCC and the Department of Infrastructure, responsible for  vehicle approvals, on Friday the 2nd October, to discuss the automakers' plans to deal with the issue. VW confirming that 11 million vehicles manufactured from 2009 to 2015, distributed throughout world had been fitted with a "cheat devices", however  the German automaker nor their  subsidiary Audi  provided details of the models.

However the models withdrawn from sale included the 2009-2015, VW Beetle 2.0L TDI,   VW Golf 2.0L TDI,   VW Jetta 2.0L TDI,  Audi A3 2.0L TDI, and  VW Passat 2.0L TDI sedan and wagon, Audi A4 sedan and wagon, Audi A5 coupe, Audi Q5 2.0 TDI SUV, VW Tiguan SUV,  the Skoda Yeti SUV and Skoda Superb sedan and wagon fitted with the controversial 2.0-litre EA189 diesel engine. Sales of these vehicles were also suspended in  the US, Canada and Switzerland. France and Italy have each launched inquests into who manipulated the company’s diesel emissions data and who knew about it. Currently there are inquiries in every country world wide, launched by the relevant bodies as to  whether or not consumers were misled by Volkswagen. If found guilty  Volkswagen will face legal action and may  be fined $108,000 AU per car on Australian roads which roughly  approximates 70,000 vehicles, should  be found to have been approved based on false claims. 

Volkswagen, Europe's biggest car manufacturer is under huge pressure to control the biggest public relations nightmare and the biggest business crisis they ever experienced in their 78-year history. It wiped more than a third of its share price, and forced their long-time CEO to resign and it rocked both the auto industry and Germany as a country. The head of their U.S. division was called upon to testify before lawmakers and Germany's KBA watchdog has set a  deadline to Oct. 7 for them to come up with a refit plan. Meanwhile VW  started provided websites for  customers to self verify  whether or not their vehicles are affected.

Volkswagen’s own internal inquest into the deceptive engine software that cost the company a third of their share price, is honing in on  former R&D  Audi engineer Ulrich Hackenberg and former R&D Porsche engineer Wolfgang Hatz. Former being the operative world since both of them were among a number of engineers suspended during the investigation.

According to  Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobi-Club (ADAC), a German motoring group. They say that Volkswagen is not the only company whose vehicles pollute  and fail tests and claim that diesel vehicles from other popular car manufacturers also emit dangerous levels of pollution. Renault's Espace Energy dCi 160, Nissan's X-Trail 1.6 cDi  and Jeep's Renegade 2.0 are earmarked as the worst polluters and other manufactures vehicles like Volvo, Citroën, Fiat, BMW, Ford, Jaguar and Mazda are reported to emit 10 times more NOx when compared to current European Union (EU) emission standards.

Some of these manufacturers spoke out and raised criticism of the New European Driving Cycle's (NEDC) emissions standards and testing policy, implying that the issue, doesn't fall solely on the car manufacturers but also on testing procedures.

OPEN HEART SURGERY CONTROVERSY

"The Economist" newspaper interview with Hamilton Naki reported in its obituary section, that Mr. Hamilton Naki was an assistant in the first human heart transplant in which he removed the heart from the donor, Denise Darvall. This account of the story came directly from the horses mouth, in Hamilton Naki's very own words.

But according to a controversial documentary entitled "Hidden Heart", Doctor Marius Barnard, brother to the world renown Dr Christiaan Barnard removed her heart. Dr Christiaan Bernard openly admitted in this docy, and I quote, “given the opportunity, Mr Naki would have been a better surgeon than me”. However, Dr Christiaan Barnard also goes to great lengths in this documentary to describe Mr Naki's skill and abilities as a surgeon even though they would never have been acknowledged under the apartheid system. But the most remarkable thing about this denial or deception, is that an honorary degree was conferred on Naki by the University of Cape Town. Thabo Mbeki, the then president of South Africa even paid tribute to Naki's achievements with a handshake.

Hamilton Naki comes from Ngcingane, a small village outside Centani in the Transkei interior. Initially he was employed as a gardener at Groote Schuur Hospital South Africa, where he later requested to take-up an available position to tend to the animals at the university laboratories. To Naki's surprise the animals in question was not sheep, cows, and goats as expected which he tendered as a boy but rather dogs, rats and guinea pigs.

Despite his lack of education, formal medical training, and official credentials his technical abilities were recognized. Hamilton  quickly learnt the techniques of operations, anesthesia and post-operative care and as a consequence obtained permission to continue research in the laboratory. However, being black, he would never have become a surgeon during the Apartheid era since it was illegal for a black man to touch a white patient. But in the laboratories he performed numerous heart transplants on animals assisted by specific members of the elite first heart transplant team. Naki proved his competency daily, hence Christiaan's remark above. But under the apartheid system, no black was allowed to hols a scalpel in his hand nor claim to be a physician or for that matter a surgeon without the necessary qualifications / credentials.

This is but one of the heinous injustices dished out by the apartheid system. Karren Barnard daughter of Dr Christiaan Barnard is up in arms about the fact that neither her dad nor Naki was still alive to confirm or deny the truth of this apparent lie and fraud committed under the banner of apartheid. The controversy regarding this issue continues. Once again one of the proudest moments in South African history may have been one of its most shameful and a source of controversy 365 days per year!

CONTROVERSIAL MEDICINE

THE FIRST HEART TRANSPLANT

A controversial documentary called Hidden Heart  flighted on TV, preempted the fallout of the world's first successful human heart transplant, perhaps an attempt to soften the blow of possible credibility theft. The question is why? Is there perhaps more to it than meets the eye? An elite team of medical professionals at Groote Schuur Hospital were all human heart transplant trained and on standby, waiting for the event of the century, in which to partake. Training was done, meaning similar procedures had already been done before albeit on animals (pigs and rats) and everyone involved, attained proficiency thereat, hence on standby -waiting off line.

The operating theatre was also on standby since it was never before used for a heart transplant procedure, even the custom manufactured and tested but never used electronic heart and lung machine was on standby. Louis Washkansky a 55 year old dentist who already suffered three heart attacks was lying in hospital since November (a month early) waiting for the heart, promised to him by Chris, so he was also on standby.

Suddenly it all happened, a suitable candidate appeared out of nowhere. Denise Darvall was young and healthy, she had the correct blood type, she was the correct tissue type and according to Dr Chistiaan Barnard, she was brain dead from a car accident, yet her heart was pumping. Peculiar isn't it? Declared dead with heart activity. The team allegedly even got Duvall's and her father's consent, both agreeing to the transplant,  even though neither was consulted about a transplant prior to the accident. Be that as it may, the entire team eagerly waited for her heart to stop beating and within 12 minutes they got the go ahead. Question is, did her heart stop on its own or was it medically induced?

Louis Washkansky eventually did get the controversial heart promised to him by Chris. Coincidental? Even more peculiar, Denise Darvall who met the necessary medical criteria with flying colours, just happened to get knocked in a motor vehicle accident and killed hardly a kilometer from Groote Schuur Hospital itself, were everything and everyone, you guessed  it, were on standby. This just reeks of controversy -an elaborate plan made by someone for someone- worked out in detail, to the point of having Denise Anne strategically knocked down, as a means to and end. This raises the 5 million dollar question, Did one of the proudest moments in South African history just turn into one of our most shameful or is what follows in the next controversial blog even worse?

HEART TRANSPLANT

VITAL ORGAN HARVESTING

It was the year 1967, in fact more precisely it was on the 3 December of 1967 when Dr Christiaan Barnard, the world renown South African cardiac surgeon firmly placed Groote Schuur Hospital as well as the City of Cape Town on the map with the first successful human heart transplant.

However, even though this was a magnificent feat, Dr James Hardy of Mississippi Medical Center, beat Christiaan to the punch some three years earlier. Unfortunately the donor chimpanzee heart transplanted by Dr Harvy stopped beating within 90 minutes of the transplant, whilst inside the recipient's chest. The transplant was a failure and declared unsuccessful.

Organ transplants and its type of surgery wasn't at all what it was made out to be, because Barnard's patient - Louis Washkansky, died within 18 days of the heart transplant. The cause of death was blamed on double pneumonia even though Washkansky braved rejection medication and steroids. However, the heart transplant was considered a success globally, taking into account the patient survived unaided by electronic apparatus for this length of time.

The Human Heart

The name Dr Christiaan Barnard shot to world fame trailing along with it the theatre of Groote Schuur Hospital, but that wasn't the only thing it dragged behind. Suddenly there was a host of unanswered questions and issues of unethical medical behavior, prejudice, racism, deceit, lies and a cover up perhaps even murder.

Barnards medical achievement paved the way for the future for the multi million dollar human organ transplant industry that followed. This gave rise to numerous fascinating stories of young girls waking-up in a bath of blood stained ice water after a blind date only to find that she was minus one kidney. Numerous children were also found dead in fields with their liver or other vital organs missing which was subsequently blamed on Sangomas and African Witch Craft, but we all can imagine what may really have happened. Organ harvesting has become big business among unethical medical professionals since. Be assured these are not urban legends but newsworthy events. Apartheid South Africa was not the place to be if you were non-white nor just be there at that point in time, with its abundant stories of numerous persons arrested by white police never to be seen again - perhaps harvested. South Africa even had its own medical doctor called "Dr Death" during the apartheid era. Can you imagine that?

Anyway, this brings me to the controversy that snaps at me when looking at the facts of the world's first successful human heart transplant. The players are, Louis Washkansky, Denise Darvall, Hamilton Naki, Dr Chris Barnard, Dr Marius Barnard and the heart transplant team.
The question that begs to get answered is, Is there a remote possibility that Dr Chris Barnard and his team perhaps colluded to murder Denise Darvall for the sake of name and fame? Or is it all just coincidence.
