GOOD

GOOD

Dear fellow South African Citizen, I don't know whether or not you’re politically savvy or a political atheist, nor whether you've voted before or not, nor if you’re even affiliated to any particular political party. Neither do I know, whether you've read our amazing constitution or not, nor if you're interested in implementing the freedom charter of our beloved country. But what I do know, is that as a South African citizen, you ought to become politically savvy, and if you never voted, you need to register with the IEC no later than the 27th of January 2019, aligned yourself to a political party, read our progressive SA constitution  and assist in implementing the freedom charter, because it’s your responsibility.

REGISTER

The Final Voter Registration Weekend for 2019 Elections is 26 and 27 January 2019. If you’ve a millennial who recently reached voting age, and is in possession of a green bar-coded ID book; smartcard ID; or valid Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC),  it’s imperative that you register and align yourself with the party that implements the constitution and not one that pays lip service to the constitution. Your democratic future is at stake, so make the right choice, based on your understanding. Don’t get coerced into voting for a party someone else suggested, or feels you should join, think for yourself and make an informed decision based on your own findings.

VOTE

Then again, if you're one of those fence sitters who relinquish their right and responsibility to vote, who invariably complain afterwards about unfavourable conditions they find themselves in, then it’s your time to step-up to the plate and act as a responsible South African Citizen, and Vote! But vote for a party that you believe will be true to our constitution. What I'd like to emphasize is, that it takes just one insignificant seeming vote to tip the scales, and that one vote could be yours. So make the difference and vote for the change you'd like to see because that’s exactly what I did alongside millions of South Africans.

Jacob-Zuma as the shit hit the fan

GOOD PEOPLE

I’ve been a card carrying ANC member for many years, but over time I became disillusioned with their internal politics, strife and “corruption”. It’s unimaginable that ex-President Zuma, who ought to lead his fellow countrymen by GOOD example, have 783 charges of corruption laid against him. That’s certainly not a GOOD example because as an ANC representative at executive level, he totally and utterly disgraced the ANC with all his improprieties and indiscretions; yet, several ANC members defended him with tooth and nail. Abraham Lincoln once said "All it takes for evil to triumph is for GOOD men to do nothing" and that’s exactly what has happened. By analogy, if a school pupil in school uniform commit just one heinous act of vandalism and is identified, he or she would most certainly be expelled from school. It would be considered that the pupil brought the school’s GOOD  name into disrepute; let alone 783 acts of criminality than more than warrants extended jail time.

An old adage says, “What's GOOD for the goose is GOOD for the gander”, it implies that both sexes should be treated equally and shouldn't be subjected to different standards. Likewise whatever is GOOD for the "prince"  is GOOD for the "pauper", but when selective law is applied that favours the “elite” under a constitution that screams, “Everyone is equal in the eyes the law”, then something is drastically wrong. It’s quite evidently that there is absolutely no accountability in the ANC, but there is definitely camaraderie. Camaraderie in corruption!

CORRUPTION

One just has to look at the fallout of the dubious 1 Trillion Rand nuclear deal with the Russians. As well as the dubious R13 Billion Rand train deal with the Canadian company Bombardier, and the separate dubious Jet deal. Not to mention the dubious R30 Billion Rand arms deal with French firm Thales / Thompsons.  Then there’s State Capture and the R5.3 Billion Rand Gupta Gate / scandal; all of which screamed financial kickbacks very loudly. All this happened purely becauseGOOD men to did nothing”.

ANC

Self enrichment seemed to have been the order of the day, and as we've seen, thieves of a feather tend to flock together. It is clearly evident that the ANC wasn’t implementing our constitution but rather a form of tribal law.  Amid the scandals of corruption, state capture, evidence of nepotism, infighting, power grubbing, rampant maladministration in several Provinces, incompetence in public offices and a general decline in the quality of leadership has also become very visible for all to see. Under ANC governance, South Africa has become a state of disaster, devoid of ethics, morals and justice.

Patricia de Lille of the new party that stands for GOOD

ANC BLUNDERS

As a consequence  I jumped ship because the ANC had failed me hopelessly. The ANC also failed Mosiuoa Lekota the former defence minister and his deputy, Mluleki George; as well as former Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa, all of whom broke away and formed COPE. The ANC also failed long-time ANC member and youth leader Julius Malema, who also broke away to form the EFF. It is believed that the E & Fs are more favourable to Julius Malema’s than the G&H on his school report

The ANC has also failed thousands if not millions of its loyal supporters, several of whom have also  jumped ship, or are at the very least still contemplating to do so. The million dollar question now is, whether or not independently wealthy President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa is sufficient of a leader to pull the ANC out of the sewers and retain its vast membership, considering his hand in the Marikana massacre during August 2012.

To make matters worse, the ANC has just committed its latest and biggest blunder and ultimate mistake with the possibility of backfire to allow ex-President Zuma —the worst president the ANC has ever had— to campaign on their behalf in KwaZulu-Natal for the 2019 elections.  If this ANC strategy fails, they would lose thousands of disgruntled voters to opposition parties based in KwaZulu-Natal, especially to the Inkatha Freedom Party and National Freedom Party.  One could say that at this moment in time the ANC is its own worst enemy because it had ruined a once functioning country and turned it turned into a country devoid of ethics, morals and justice.

WHITE AGGRESSION

Be that as it may, I then joined the DA, because it was the most multi-racial party in South Africa at the time. Though most of its members were remnants of the “All white” and verkramtpe,  Pieter De Klerk's National Party’s (NP), Helen Suzman progressive Federal Party (PFP) and Zach de Beer Democratic Party (DP). It is only when the DA absorbed Patricia de Lille's Independent Democrats and Ziba Jiyane's South African Democratic Convention that they became the most multi-racial party. Coming from a previously disadvantaged background, this was a very difficult decision to make, considering none of the other parties had the political will nor the amount of seats to really make a difference. So I took solace in the fact that, if Madiba could forgive his apartheid aggressors who unjustly imprisoned him for the better part of his adult life, then I could also forgive them for the atrocities they committed against me and my fellow  previously disadvantage South Africans during the apartheid era.

Subsequently, the DA recruited hoards of South African’s across all racial lines and secured the “Coloured” vote in the Western Cape managing to secure some 89 seats.  But regardless of this, it is quite evident that despite some "black" support, the DA, even with Mmusi Maimane  at its helm will always be a White Party in the minds of the majority of black people; and that's the very reason why they’ve made little inroads in Black ANC controlled areas.

DA RACISM

The most multi-racial party or not, breaking news in the Citizen today "alleges" that two DA members were planning to get rid of one or more of their "black"  counterparts in the DA and even called them the K-word during a WhatsApp conversation that was leaked to the press. This more than proves the "All White" ex-National Party verkramtpe, apartheid and  their racist attitudes are very much alive in the ranks of the DA.

POLITICS IN PERSPECTIVE

But before I continue, let me put the political scene into perspective.  The African National Congress (ANC) is the majority party, with 249 of the 400 National Assembly seats. In the previous elections they secured 264 seat. Subsequently, their popularity decreased substantially, losing them 15 seats in the process, hence 249.  The Democratic Alliance (DA) holds 89 seats and sits in second position, having somewhat grown in popularity by 22 seats since the previous elections when they only had 67.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are the new kids on the block and holds 25 seats, considering it’s the first time they contested the elections. The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) came in at fourth place having secured 10 seats. However, their popularity also declined, considering that they had 18 seats in the previous elections, subsequently loosing 8.

The National Freedom Party (NFP) which is a breakaway of the IFP came in fifth position, garnering 6 seats. The United Democratic Movement (UDM) managed to secure 4 seats, while both the Congress of the People (Cope) and the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) secured 3 seats each. Out of the 29 parties that contested the elections, only 13 parties were able to secure seats in the National Assembly. The rest just fell by the wayside. What we learn from this, is that when you wager a bet, at the very least, place it on a winning horse.

Due to ANC member disillusionment, caused by the ANC’s poor track record of non-service delivery and ex-President Zuma’s antics, the ANC is bound to lose as many as 30% of their seats. With the racist comments and physical unrest in the DA during the past month, and further prejudiced by the mayor and 5 councillors resigning, it’s quite predictable that they will most definitely loose 50% of their seats.

EFF IN TROUBLE

Then looking at the financial trouble between AfriForum and the EFF, and the court battles between Pravin Gordhan and the EFF, and the death threats made by their members against the management of the Workforce Group in Vereeneging, they are sure to lose at least 30% of their seats, That's to say if they even manage to contest the 2019 elections. By the looks of things, the EFF is on the verge of bankruptcy due to the VBS Mutual Bank scandal in which it is alleged that Floyd Shivambu’s younger brother Brian had funnelled R10 million through a company called Sgameka Projects into Floyd’s personal bank account, of which the EFF as a party had allegedly received R1.3 million. This renders the EFF's behaviour and conduct unconstitutional and constitutes a blatant abuse of democracy.

There is a Parlimentary probe into Floyd Shivambu's role in th VBS heist.

Politically savvy or not, I'm certain that by now the grapevine informed you that seasoned politician Patricia De Lille and several other Democratic Alliance members absconded from the DA. The question that begs to be answered, is why? Especially, considering that Patricia had been the Mayor of Cape Town for the past 7 years and had done a sterling job. That by itself says, that she must have done something right in order to hold that post for such a  length of time, totally unopposed by any of her own or other party members. By implication something must have triggered this drastic exodus.

DA LOOSING FACE

The DA voiced a vote of no confidence in Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille yet hopelessly failed to clearly communicate why they no longer have confidence in here. This inability has consequently and irreparably damaged the Party's Brandand its going to cost them votes— because the things De Lille has been accused of aren't actual crimes.  Apparently  the DA ordered an inquest into De Lille due to allegations that she stopped City manager Achmat Ebrahim from reporting allegations of corruption against Melissa Whitehead, the commissioner of the transport and urban development authority.

However, when Helen Zille circulated her offending controversial tweets about colonialism, the DA leader Mmusi Maimane turned a blind eye which makes it very clear that there’s widespread irregularities within the DA. Not to mention that DA leader Mmusi Maimane declined the post as premier of the Western Cape previously held by Helen Zille because of the DA's internal instability.

PATRICIA DE LILLE

De Lille is a seasoned politician and willing to tackle spatial justice, social justice, economic justice and environmental justice because no other party has done that before. She was the unapologetic whistle blower on the multi-billion rand arms deal that exposed ex-President Zuma of corruption. If she didn’t bring it to light, corruption in high places would have resulted in SA Rand being downgraded to junk status a long ago its effects possibly creating another Zimbabwe.  Patricia has exceptional political will and her track record more than proves it.  Whilst a member of the Pan-African Congress (PAC)  in June 2003 she had the conviction and the political will to abscond in order to form her own party The Independent Democrats.

In 2014 the Independent Democrats  (ID) merged with the DA with each ID member having dual membership under the DA-ID. The merger was finalized to better challenge the ANC because they had
become increasingly corrupt and was abusing the Constitution.  Consequently, Helen Zille  became the Premier of the and Patricia De Lille the Mayor of Cape Town. After seven years in office, Patricia De Lille once again demonstrates her conviction and political will by absconding in order to form a new Political Movement named —GOOD. Her reason for leaving the DA, is that the constitution was not being implemented by the DA as it ought to be and she was going to see it implemented even if it meant an exodus.

THE GOOD MOVEMENT

The GOOD people of this movement vow not to tolerate corruption but to fight it. Not to allow racism but stand-up against it. Not spread hate but hope. Not to neglect the aged but to revere them. Not to fail our children but to educate and care for them. Not to stand idle whilst others suffer and promote GOOD business so that we can grow our economy.
